Professor Isla Hansen is currently developing a site-specific installation for her residency at the Mattress Factory Museum. The Regional show will open in March of 2024 at the Mattress Factory’s Monterey Annex with three artists occupying each of the building’s three floors. Curated by Monique Long, Isla is joined by Pittsburgh based artist Marvin Touré and New York based artist Catalina Schliebener. Isla’s installation, How To Get To Make Believe, will serve as a set and studio throughout the duration of the 2024-25 exhibition for the making of a limited episode television series inspired by the locally made Mister Rogers Neighborhood (1968-2001). Isla’s project is supported by the Mattress Factory, the Dedalus Foundation Fund for Past Fellows and Awardees, the College of Fine Arts Fund for Research and Creativity, and the CMU Center for the Arts in Society.
